Roger and Deann, Thanks so much for a great hunt this weekend. This was only my second hunt to South Dakota and I believe we have a place that we can all plan to come back to for a guaranteed good time. Your accomodations and hospitality were really inviting and we felt right at home. The pheasant hunting was so much greater than our experience a couple of years ago. Roger and Deann, Thank you very much for your hospitality, and for welcoming me to your farm for opening weekend. This was my first experience hunting pheasants. Roger and Deann, I just had the pleasure of a weekend pheasant hunt at the Roger and Deann Zens farm. For an added touch, I brought along my 20 year old son and it was his first South Dakota pheasant hunt and my 17 year old daughter for her first ever pheasant hunt. We were greeted on Saturday just before noon at the Zens Farm, just 5 miles north of Zell, South Dakota. The hunt plan was explained to all and we joined the nine other hunters for the first field. We walked four fields over a three hour period and limited out the first day for all eleven hunters. We all went back to the farm and enjoyed a little refreshment and departed for the day. On Sunday, we all joined back at the farm and again Roger laid out the hunt plan for the day to the twelve hunters for Sunday. We walked five fields over four hours and limited out again. We were treated to fresh made refreshments (compliments of Deann) and some great fellowship back at the farm. We all loaded up the birds and headed home after enjoying one great weekend hunt. We were made to feel welcome, safe and like we were part of the family. My son and daughter can't wait to get back to the Zens Farm for the next hunt. What a great place! |

We feel we have made some new friends that we intend to visit again next year and were certainly treated like part of the family. The numbers of Pheasants at times, almost takes your breath away and certainly stopped my dog, Harley, in his tracks. Thank you again for the South Dakota experience and we will see you next year.
